How do I maintain a hairpiece made of real hair?

Caring for your real hair piece is very important. By doing the right maintenance, you can drastically extend the life of your hair piece. Increase the wearing comfort and keep the look at top level.

Textual - step by step

Brushing

  • Brush your hair extension from bottom to top
  • If there are no more tangles or knots in your hair solution, comb again gently from top to bottom and from left to right with a thin comb
  • This combing method ensures that the buttons that secure the hair in the cap are tightened again.

Shampoo

  • Fill a bowl with lukewarm water
  • Add about 2 tablespoons of the Rich Repair shampoo to the water
  • Wash your hairpiece in the bowl with shampoo by gently pulling it through the water. Squeeze the frontal parts well and make sure your lace is free of blemishes and makeup.
  • Rinse the hairpiece thoroughly until the water runs completely clear.

2nd Washing

  • Repeat the wash again with clean water and new shampoo. You will now see that the water foams and that all the dirt still present in the hairpiece is immediately washed out well.

Conditioner/Treatment

  • Dry your hair extension thoroughly and apply Rich Repair conditioner or 60 second treatment and brush it through thoroughly.
  • Rinse the hairpiece thoroughly until the water runs clear.
  • Towel dry it.
  • Apply a little Chi Silk Infusion to the hairpiece.
  • Brush the entire hairpiece thoroughly again and let it dry naturally, preferably.

Difference between conditioner and treatment

Conditioner restores flexibility to the hairpiece. Hair needs to be elastic to prevent breakage. Treatment should be seen as a mask. All imperfections and damages sustained by wearing the hair solution are repaired. We recommend alternating conditioner and treatment after each wash.


After washing

You can blow-dry your hairpiece with a brush. Do this carefully and, above all, do not come too close to the hairpiece with too much heat. You can irreversibly damage the hair this way. We ourselves prefer natural drying. Of course, this must fit into your schedule, as a hairpiece, depending on the hair length, often needs several hours to dry completely.
