My Story

Read here about Viola's life and the eventual creation of MoveHs Hairsolutions.

Viola de Vries was diagnosed with alopecia at the age of 17. This was the start of a years-long and often frustrating search through practitioners, researchers and hairpiece suppliers at home and abroad.

"As the disease progressed erratically and eventually became chronic, Viola was faced with one disappointment after another."

Examinations and treatments in academic hospitals and expensive private clinics yielded no results. Good hairpieces were hard to find; she spent a lot of money in vain on 'solutions' that did not work. In the meantime, she had to deal with the insecurity about her appearance.

The insecure 17-year-old from back then is now a driven entrepreneur.

She has transformed all the disappointments into ideas and plans to help women in similar situations. She has used all the knowledge she has gained over the years to come up with and develop hair solutions that are worth the investment.

With her husband Dave, she set up a production line of quality hairpieces.

Their specialty: natural looking hair that 'moves' , for women who also like to be on the move. Women who can feel confident and free again, who get a twinkle in their eyes when they see themselves in the mirror. Hence Move (= move) Hs(= Hairsolutions hair solution )

Viola: “Over the years I have tested many types of hair solutions and have searched for new, better techniques, good hair and possibilities at home and abroad. My goal: to develop hair solutions that feel and look as much as possible like your own hair. Our clients also include women who play sports at a high level, are known for being in the army or working for the police. It is very satisfying to be able to contribute to a safe feeling and security, to feeling beautiful again!”

“Every day at MoveHs Hairsolutions we experience how much silent sadness and shame hair loss causes. Even if it is temporary, due to chemo or radiation, it has a major impact. Just think: women with a life-threatening illness are often most afraid of the moment their hair falls out.”

“We understand the impact hair loss has on your life. Our mission is to minimize that impact.”
