Would you also like to contribute by donating your hair? donate for someone who suffers from a hair disease ? Someone with Alopecia is not ill, but only has an autoimmune disease, does everything else that everyone does, just live an active life. That is why we also pay a lot of attention to well-fitting frames, that stay securely in place, with untreated hair that does not break off.
Untreated European hair is becoming a scarce commodity, and the reimbursements are far from sufficient. Someone with Alopecia usually has to replace the hairpieces annually if the hair disease has become chronic.
A hairpiece is made from multiple bundles of hair
To make a hairpiece we need multiple bundles of hair. The hair from one donor is not enough. The hairs are pre-hackled, the shorter hairs that fall out are waste. Usually the waste is 30-40% per hair bundle. The hairs are mixed together and knotted by hand. This means that they are knotted hair by hair in a thin, sturdy netting that can withstand a beating.
We pay a lot of attention to the fit, we don't want sliding e - loose caps or hair pieces that fit well . It must feel comfortable and safe for the wearer and give freedom of movement . These hair pieces will in principle last longer than the standard ready-made hair pieces. Each hair piece is therefore made unique.
What requirements should your hair meet when donating hair?
We like to receive clean, washed hair in ponytails. Please do not braid , we like to see the original fall of the hair .
- Hair lengths of at least 30cm.
- The hair must not be processed (i.e. bleached, colored or permed).
- Gray hair is also welcome.
- Men's hair is also of great added value to us.
